Altarsoft Video Converter allows you to convert between some video file formats. The developer does not specify the formats the program supports. But, obviously, it supports the same input formats, as the output ones. And the output formats it supports are AVI, ASF, WMV, and MPG. It will let you add videos of other formats for conversion but won't convert them. Actually, it will mark them as converted (and the conversion speed of such files will be incredibly high, just a moment), but when you will try to play them you will have no success. At least, FLV video, which I have added, was not playable after an attempt to convert it to AVI format.
Despite the few formats supported, the program has a simple, intuitive interface , and offers you many output parameters to adjust. It allows you to choose video and audio codecs, audio channel, bitrate, and quality. Also you will be able to split video ( by setting either frame or time borders), zoom and rotate it, as well as adjust the picture color.
Unfortunately, while adjusting output parameters you may face another disadvantage, the build-in video player playing the added files does not count down the time of the movie duration. So, it is rather difficult to set time borders when splitting video. To do so you will need to open it in another media player, remember the time points you need and enter them into the program's window.
Still, the player is easy ti use, and is free, so, if you wish, you can give it a try.
